  	Jim died at Hospice Home of NE Indiana, Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana, after trying to light a cigaret while still attached to oxygen. HIs face and nose were badly burned but his death is regarded as being from lung cancer. Jim was cremated at Northern Indiana Crematory and his ashes were buried at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Waynedale, IN. The funeral home was Elzey-Patterson-Rodak.

  Notes	As a teenager in Indianapolis, Jim worked for the Donnie Dunker Donut Shop -- or a name similar to that. It was run by a man named George Bork but don't know his connection to our family other than as Jim's employer. While working there, Jim decided to practice flipping eggs but when the egg landed back in the skillet, the grease that was in the skillet splashed up on one side of Jim's face. Not sure he practiced any after that. ---------------------------- Jim was trained as a store manager with the Kroger grocery store chain in Winchester, IN after high school. He owned his own IGA grocery store with his brother-in-law, Lowell FISHER, in Eaton, IN, in the mid-1960's. He also worked for Eavey's in Muncie and Fort Wayne, IN, and then for Scott's in Fort Wayne before retiring. ----------------------- Jan Baber, phone 260-747-4070, is supposed to have the records for Prairie Grove Cemetery in Fort Wayne where Jim and Rita are buried. ------------------------------------
