[Although John was buying land in Indiana, the Patent says he was "of Clark County, Ohio" and he will be filed with the Ohio RICHISONs.
This patent was issued on the same date as one to a George RICHESON of Cass County, Indiana who was buying land in Clinton Co., Indiana. In March of 1837, Andrew RICHESON of Clark County, Ohio bought land in Cass County, IN. I believe these three were brothers, born within a couple of years of each other with Andrew being the oldest, then George, then John.]

There is no return in this book so they may have been married elsewhere as only the family Bible and tradition have given the date of 6 December 1821 as the actual marriage date.
The Richardson that took an oath that John and Elizabeth were of age appears to be an "s" and then a superscript d. The other party to the oath, Solomon Kelly, was married to Elizabeth's sister in 1811 and would be John's brother-in-law by this marriage to Elizabeth.
