    • "Henry Weaver was a farmer; however, when his country needed him during the Civil War he immediately answered the call by enlisting in the service. On 12 February 1862, at the age of 32, Henry joined the service in Knox County, Tennessee, for a period of 3 years. He participated in the Civil War, fighting for the Union, as a Private in Company A and Company D, 1st Tennessee Infantry, from February 20, 1862 until 18 February 1865. Henry served under Captain Thomas J. Rogers, First Regiment of the Tennessee Infantry, Commanded by Col. Robert K. Byrd, in the war of 1861.

      Henry was honorably discharged at Knoxville, Tennessee, on or about 14 February 1865. His last military pay was received on August 21, 1864, in the amount of $30.50. By the age of 32, Henry was a strapping young man, six feet, one inches high, dark eyes, dark complexion, and black hair as described on a furlough pass given to him during his time in the service."
