A notation on the second page in the margin says "above restaurant" and on the first page it appears to say "12th and Burlington." There has been a restaurant at that location in Muncie for many years. When we moved to Muncie in the 50s it was called the Pig Stand but changed to something else later on. Pauline's niece, Betty Jean Richison, worked there as a waitress at one time.

    6. [S384] Richison Corre - Frank Vaughn Richison, (to Shirley Fields,), RICHISON - Correspondence: 13.
      May 29, 1989

      Dear Shirley:
I received your package with the certificated and the photo-copies, and I sincerely appreciated it. I am now awaiting the death-certificate from the State of Washington. My next step is to see a lawyer to cut the red tape involved with the safe deposit box. I will keep you informed of the progress as it goes along.
I do not believe that Westchester is a typographical error, as you opined, because there is small cross-roads town northeast of Portland off of route 27, almost due east of another small town called Antiville just south of Bryant. [I had questioned if Dallas Ray Richison and Olive Alexander's marriage notice in the paper should have said Winchester rather than Westchester.] I have been told that my father operated a small restaurant or café near Bryant in his younger days, and it could have been in Westchester, I don't know. Another item of interest is the write-up about their wedding which stated that they were making their home in Ohio. My father did work for the National Cash Register in Dayton Ohio for less than a year because they came back to Jay Co. when Pauline was born, and so far as I know he never worked out of the state, except that he did do some work involving army barracks in some back-woodsy place in Kentucky, called Sitson-Stitson or whatever-- World War I . They did not move to Winchester until I was 3 or 4 years age, which would make it about 1923 or 1924. We lived at 631 Stone Street in Winchester until we moved to the house on the hill about 1930 or 1931.
I hadn't really thought about it, but I don't recall ever have met or seen any of my grandmother's side of the family, the Davis's. So far as I know they were never at any of the family gatherings. So they are a complete blank to me.
Just for the record, I would to list my sister's husbands:
#1. Milburn Theodore (Ted) Thornberg - Farmland Indiana - deceased
#2. Paul Arnstrong - Wabash Indiana - deceased [ think this should be Armstrong]
#3. Elwood Thompson - Grants Pass Oregon (Killed in action in the Korean War in 1952).
#4. James Jackson - Atwater California - deceased Do not believe married to him.
#5. William Cleary - Livingston California - do not know if still living.
#6. First name unknown Rohrs - Seattle Wasington-deceased
In so far as I know there were no children. I vaguely remember that I was told that she had miscarried one child.
Pauline did some work on the geneology of the Richison family. She told me that in time that the sons were given the mother's maiden name as their middle name. I remember her talking of the Ayres, Priests, Websters, Stausbergs, Princes etc, and I now see the connection of them with the family.
I noted that Ted Thornberg's occupation was listed as that of a farmer, but do know that he worked at Kistleman's Wire Mill in Muncie for a good many years. He also bootlegged booze during prohibition which was a great source of turmoil with my sister, with the comings and goings at all hours of the day and night, & all the hush-hush bit.
I just came back with the mail and got a very nice letter from your mother.
I am enclosing an item of interest to you. Unless my mind has taken a walk, I think that I have some other items you would like to see but I'm not sure where they are, if I still have them. If I run across them I will see that you get the information.
I hope you will excuse my typing, but on the other hand would have problems reading my handwriting, because I have a tendency to wander from a straight line downwards in spite of my efforts to keep it straight.

      Sincerely and with love
      Your Uncle Frank
